Five Words, Go!

The purpose of this type of activity is simply to see where your mind will go based on disparate words. First, you get 5 words, any 5, then you read them to the group, and they write the 1st word that comes to them (so yes, word association). So I say cat, you write dog, etc. Then with the words you’ve written, you create a lickity split scribble using those words as quickly as you can..

Here’s mine from last week’s workshop (all facilitators are encouraged to write while the workshop members write…so, of course, I will take the chance, because it’s really the only time I have been paid to write creatively)

I wept-crept down the rugged stairs, and saw his face covered with yet another cap. A hat so angry, hiding his eyes, so hard like midnight fists. You cannot swim in his eyes, they’re polluted. Muck. Muck in between toes. Nothing can climb in under his heart, his hat; his sun has died beneath the bed where they left him when he was a little boy.

Greetings Feline and Fellow Earthlings! In the interest in "brevity" I will attempt to summarize via lists. I AM, this is me, here we go, weee: writer, reader, lover of music, dance, theatre, animals, oddities, 2nd hand trolling through alleys and le boutigues of sally ann and value village, and the beautiful outdoorsy nature of my home. Big breath, leap #2: a veggie head, enviro eco freak, chocolateasaurus, transformer more than meets the eye, former ESL teacher, a happy auntie of Nicholas and Sam, my 2 sweetie pie nephews.
